A set of icons designed to represent various meaningful things in my life
THE LOWER BOTTOMS
The Lower Bottoms is a 72 page book of photography I designed while enrolled at California College of the Arts. The Lower Bottoms, located in West Oakland, is a neighborhood with an interesting history and a seemingly endless cast of characters. The content of this book was simply a matter of asking people to take a photo and to share a memorable story about the neighborhood.
ROY'S SHRIMP SHACK
Roy's Shrimp Shack is an identity system for a potential restaurant. The concept of this project is about blending the old with the new. The style of this identity was about taking colors and a illustrative approach from classic waterside joints and meshing them with a modern style eatery.
This was a photoshoot I did in collaboration with the LA based band Toy Masulina. These photographs were made using both digital and practical effects. I buried these two gents in the sand up to their necks and then later composited the backgrounds to put them in a more surreal scenario.
